Original uniform printed wrappers. = Important work on tea and tea cultivating in the former Dutch East Indies (Malay Archipelago), by the man who introduced advanced forms of tea culture from China. Despite his efforts, and the high quality of the tea itself, the tea production in the Dutch East Indies was economically unsuccessful until the 1870's. Well illustrated. Uncut. A third volume was published later and is not included. Wrappers soiled and front wrapper first volume with a tear, second volume with a (tea?) stain in the upper outer corner, not reaching the text. Rare.
