Disbound. = A rare and finely illustrated monograph of this economically important clay type, written by the French chemist, mineralogist, geologist, paleontologist, and zoologist Alexandre Brongniart (1770-1847). The plates show a map and profiles of areas containing kaolinite soils. Published in the first and second volume of the Archives of the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris. The page-numbering of the second part is partly incorrect. A few pages in the second mémoire slightly age-toned, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
