Description: London, G. Routledge & Co., 1858. Small 8vo. [iv], 204 pp., several text engravings, 12 full colour lithographed plates [A-F, H, J-N]. Publisher's blue embossed cloth. Rich gilt pictorial spine. = One of the first books especially emaid at sea side visiting tourists. Very well illustrated. The index to the plates mentions a plate G, "Dunlin. - See p. 9", but there is no reference there and obviously this is an error. No plate I was issued either. Small previous owner's stamp on half-title, a few weak spots to, mainly, the verso of plate A (acting as frontispiece), otherwise a very good clean copy in an attractive and well-preserved binding.
