Original printed wrappers. = Translation by the Tertiary palaeontologist Théodore Lefèvre (the same as the Paris publisher?) of an unpublished manuscript by one of the foremost British paleontological taxonomists, Thomas Davidson (1817-1885), best known for his many contributions to the Palaeontographical Society Monographs. Wrappers detached, gatherings loose, but text and plates clean. Provenance: Inscribed and signed by Lefèvre on the front wrapper to the malacologist and palaeontologist G[ustave Frédérick] Dollfus. Rare.
