Contemporary polished half calf ocver marbled boards. Spine with paper label. = A fine, detailed study with excellent illustrations. It includes a palaeontological supplement by the Swiss malacologist and palaeontologist Karl Mayer-Eymar, titled: "Systematisches Verzeichniss der marinen Arten der helvetischen Stufe der Schweiz und Schwabens". The single plate contains illustrations of Pectinidae described by Mayer-Eymar. The text contains a long, detailed table of the distribution and occurrence of various fossils, mainly molluscs. This is "Beitraege zur geologischen Karte der Schweiz. Eilfter Lieferung. Gebiete der Kantone Bern, Luzern, Schwyz und Zug, enthalten auf Blatt VIII des eidgenössischen Atlas". Binding rubbed, much worn at edges; stain on front free endpaper and first title, small stamp on title; otherwise, however, internally, a very good, clean copy. Rare. Cat BM(NH) II, p. 961.
