Description: Gotha and Erfurt, Hennings, 1831. Two volumes in two. 8vo (19.6 x 11.1 cm). 791 pp. [I: ix, 447, (i); II: 332, (ii)]. Contemporary uniform mottled half calf over marbled boards. Spines with gilt ornaments and vignettes, and two (red and light blue) calf labels with gilt titles. Red edges. = Interesting flowering calender running from March to November of each year. The author, Johann Christoph Gottlob Weise (1762-1840), was a German engineer, geographer and horticultural inspector. First volume without endpapers, as if not inserted; old library stamp on first blank recto of volume 2 (the same one, in all probabilty, removed from the first volume). Title pages, and a few other pages partly toned, some thumbing in the margins; but in general a very good set in a nice, contemporary binding. Pritzel, 10143.
