Original half cloth over printed boards, printed label on the spine (I), and similar original printed wrappers (II). = A fine monograph by the German botanist [Ludwig Eduard] Theodor Loesener (1865-1941), with beautiful illustrations by his wife [Sophie] Elizabeth Loesener - Godeffroy (1870-1921), granddaughter of the Hamburger South Seas trader and founder of the Museum Godeffroy, Johan Cesar VI (1813-1885). Published in the academy's Nova Acta. The plates are in part I, the maps in part II. Uncut. Binding of first volume weak due to the heavy book block, printed spine label partly chipped; damp staining to the lower edge of the second volume, affecting the last 50 leaves; maps clean. In all a good, complete set.
