Title: A treatise on some of the insects injurious to vegetation. A new edition, enlarged and improved, with additions from the author manuscripts and original notes. Illustrated by engravings drawn from nature under the supervision of Professor Agassiz, edited by Charles L. Flint, secretary of the Massachusetts State Board of Agriculture.
Description: Boston, MA, Crosby and Nichols, 1862. 8vo. xi, 640 pp., one hand-coloured engraved frontispiece and eight further hand-coloured engraved plates, numerous woodcuts in the text. Original blind-tooled pictorial cloth, showing a large gilt moth on both front and rear board. = This work is very well-illustrated, in fact much better than in many similar works aimed a public of farmers and foresters. The coloured plates mainly show butterflies and moths. Bookplate on front paste-down, several plates a bit foxed in the margins, otherwise a good copy of this revised edition.
