Small 4to advertisment of John van Voorst (dated 1 Jan. 1844) bound in rear. Later quarter calf over original embossed cloth. Spine blind ruled and with morocco label with gilt title. = First edition. The first, unnumbered plate show antiquities; plates I, and II show trees; plates A-E contain fossils. In 1860, a supplement was published, which is not included. With the armorial bookplate of William McIlwraith "Fortitudine", on the front pastedown. Frontispiece and last two plates rather foxed, others less so, or clean. A very good copy.
