Original printed wrappers. = This is the only French translation of an influential work by the Welsh mineralogist William Hallowes Miller (1801-1880), who laid the foundations of modern crystallography. "Miller indices are named after him, the method having been described in his Treatise on Crystallography (1839). The mineral known as millerite is named after him. (Wikipedia). The rare first English edition was published in 1839. This French edition is rare too. Uncut. Spine renewed and wrappers reinforced; some, mostly very light and marginal spotting, otherwise very good. Neither in Sinkankas nor in Ward and Carozzi.
