Later blind wrappers. = The largest work by the French algologist Maurice [Augustin] Gomont (1839-1909) published in two parts and here combined. The work deals with filamentous algae-like cyanobacteriae, "blue algae". This is the rare original offprint from the Annales des Sciences naturelles, botanique with a new pagination. The half-title verso erroneously states that the second part has eight plates, however, there are seven which is correct. Dedication copy, inscribed and signed by the author on the half title to L. Morot. Uncut. Some scattered light spotting, otherwise a very good copy. Stafleu and Cowan, 2085.
