Large 4to. 910 pp. [xvi, 406; 480, viii]; 37 lithographed or photographed portraits (tissue-guarded), numerous text illustrations. Original uniform pictorial half morocco over blue linen boards. Spines and boards with gilt ornamental borders and title. Top edges gilt. = A sumptuous "Festschrift", on the occasion of fiftieth anniversary of the most important technical university of Central Europe, now called the ETH, in Zürich. The first part deals with its history, the second with the history of Zürich, with, for instance, many fine photographs of of important buildings. Provenance: an ETH stamp (cancelled) on title pages verso. Label on each spine foot; label removed from rear pastedown with some paper loss; some wear to spine tops and endpaper margins, otherwise a very good, clean set.
