Gilt title on the spine. = Major works of the French embryologist and ichthyologist Jean-Jacques Marie Cyprien Victor Coste (1807-1873) with the cooperation of Jacques Matthieu Delpech (1777-1832) who died before publication. This work contains the discovery of the nucleus of the mammalian ovum. Uncut with wide margins. Boards rubbed atedges; pictorial bookplate on the front pastedown; stamp on front free endpaper recto; perforated stamp on title page and small stamp on verso. Some foxing throughout., but in all still a good copy. Rare.
