Tall 4to (33.5 x 21.0 cm). 277 pp. [xv, 67; xi, 184]; 13 large, colour-printed, folded maps, of which the last three very large, loose in rear pocket, 45 [16; 29] photographic 'plates' (i.e. individual photos on 21 pages), numerous graphs. Uniform blind blue quarter cloth over printed boards. = Published on behalf of the United Kingdom Government Colonial Office. In the first volume's rear pocket and three large folding coloured maps being provisional vegetation and soil map of southern Tangayika, northern Rhodesia and the Osangu Plain also in Tangayika.Further included (inserted) are A: letters and a folder of the Kibo Kilmanjao Hotel related to a journey by a Mr. W. Wheldon Wright, and a newspaper clipping related to a new mining project near lake Kivu; and B: three newspaper clippings on new railroads in Africa in German. Most probably rare as published only for official use. Some light wear to the boards, a marginal tear to some of the larger maps due to careless unfolding; otherwise a very good, clean set, with some unique additional material.
