Original blind-stamped cloth, gilt titles on spine. = Published in the famous Transactions of the Royal Society (PMM 148). The paper by the second son of Charles Darwin, the astronomer Sir George Howard Darwin (1845-1912), occupies 45 pp., a bound in slip to correct a word therein, and a loose leaf with corrections to Darwin's paper. Other papers are by W. K. Brooks on the Lucifer, Young and Forbes on the velocity of white and coloured light, and some others. Some slight rubbing to the boards, otherwise a clean, nicely bound copy.
