Original printed cloth. = A fine copy of this standard reference work on synthetic gemstones by the Austrian mineralogist Hermann Michel (1888-1965), which detailed information how to tell natural stones from synthetic ones, and real minerals from fakes. Well-illustrated. This edition is far superior to the 1914 first, containing much more useful information and better illustrations. In the rear are two pages with adverts from companies selling research equipment. Spine cover a bit spotted, but apart from a small, light smudge on the half-title a fine copy, with spotlessly clean plates and pages. Rare in this state. Sinkankas, 4449.
