Marbled endpapers. = This work deals with larger Neogene mammals, of which the Elephantidae (elephants, mammoths) are most prominent. Rhinoceros and Hippopotamus, as well as some Bovidae, and mastodont-like Bunomastdontidae (= Gomphotheriidae) are discussed as well. A new species of Stegodon is included. This is the author's thesis. The tables are in matching printed stiff wrappers, and the binding is such that it can be inserted in the rear. The author's list of "stellingen" (propositions) are included. Stamp on title page and front free endpaper, otherwise a very good clean copy.
