Uniform contemporary half calf over marbled boards. Spines with four raised, gilt-ornamented bands, compartments with gilt vignettes, two morocco labels with gilt titles. Floral patterned endpapers, marbled edges. = Both volumes deal with the volcanoes around Rome. The first with the Lazio volcano in the Alban hills, the second with volcanoes in the Cimini hills. The first part is Volume ten of the Memorie descrittive della Carta geologica d'Italia, the second part is Volume 15 of the same. Front hinge of first volume weak, one of the several views on the monte Cavo (plate 2 in volume I) never bound in. Front hinge of volume one visually broken, but totally solid. Otherwise this is a very good, complete and clean set. Rare. Not in Ward and Carozzi.
