This work is more common as part of an issue of the Abhandlungen der Physicalischen Classe der Königlichen Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen, and/or without the plate with profiles coloured. Johan Friedrich Ludwig Hausmann (1782-1859) was professor of mineralogy at the University of Göttingen. This is his main geological contribution to the Harz Mountains (Central Germany). He also published a fundamental contribution to the crystal growth, Untersuchungen über die Formen der leblosen Natur, and Reise durch Skandinavien in five volumes (1811-1818), as well as a Handbuch der Mineralogie (1813). Some foxing in the text, the plate lightly toned. In all a good copy. Not in Ward and Carozzi (listing several other works by Hausmann).
