Title: Report on the Danish Oceanographical Expeditions 1908-1910 to the Mediterranean and adjacent seas. No. 1-11. [Complete].
Description: Copenhagen, Andr. Fred. Høst & Søn, 1912-1939. Eleven volumes in 11. Large 4to (35.0 x 27.5 cm). Over 3,000 pp.; numerous charts, tables, maps, and plates. Original uniform printed wrappers. = Deals mainly with the biology of the Mediterranean and adjacent parts of the Lusitanian Sea and Black sea, with an emphasis on ichthyology, and with monographs on usually pelagic invertebrates (Cephalopoda, Decapoda Macrura, Siphonophorae, Polychaeta, etc., etc.). Published at the cost of the Carlsberg Fund. No. 1 is more general, with a general introduction, and studies on the hydrography and sea bottom deposits, and with good illustrations of the equipment used, as well as a fine frontispiece photogravure of the research vessel "Thor". The following numbers 2-11 contain papers belonging to "Vol. II (Biology)", and/or "Vol. III (Miscellaneous Papers)". This set includes number 11, which was published nine years after number 10, and is often lacking. Uncut. A list of publisher's publications on oceanography and other marine sciences loosely inserted. A few private owner's stamps on some wrappers. Mostly clean, as issued. A very good set. Not in Nissen. Note: A few single no's are available, please ask.
