Original pictorial cloth. Flower-patterned endpapers. = A seldom-seen if not rare Czech publication with fine chromolithographs. These full colour plates, showing minerals and precious stones, are partly heigtened with silver and gold. They were made by R. Braunse, about whom little else is known, however, they were also used in the later "I Minerali" by Ettore Artini (1866-1928), published in Milan in 1914; in Karl Schulz's "Mineralreich" (1923), and in Chamber's "Mineralogical Dictionary" (London, 1945), but the earliest appearance is apparently here, in the first edition of Karel Kopecky's "Mineralogie". Some thumbing in the lower margins, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
