His signatures to the recto of front endpapers indicates that he was a commander in the Royal Navy during the 1960's and a Captain by 1971. His name is to the list of subscribers to the rear of all volumes. The ex Libra"s captain Jones RN retired used to live in Bath where he met his wife. His first ship was HMS Warspite when aged 20, they started the bombardment for the D day landings, 74 years ago. He recently died in Southampton aged 94 years. Publications from the Navy Records Society published for subscribers. Numbers 109-110 and 113-119. The Navy Records society publish rare and original documents on naval history. It was established in 1893 and has to this day published over 160 volumes. Sir John Knox Laughton and Admiral Sir Cyprian Bridge were the key leaders who organised the society. A harlequin set, in original publisher's cloth bindings. Externally, very smart with just a small amount of bumping to the extremities. Some handling marks and a small amount of damp staining to the boards of volumes 117, 118 and 119, does not affect the internals. Prior owner's ink signature to recto of front pastedowns to all volumes aside from vol 116, A M Jones. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound.
