Pratt was a British politician and was the Earl Camden from 1794-1812 before being styled 1st Marquess Camden. Written by political writer and historian William Belsham. This work follows Belsham's Memoirs of the Kings of Great Britain of the House of Brunswick-Luneburg. Complete in four volumes. The second edition of this work which was first published earlier the same year. This work follows George III's reign until the session of Parliament Ending A.D 1793. In 1793 France called war on Great Britain. In full tree calf bindings with gilt stamping to the spines. Externally, generally smart with heavy rubbing to the spines and to the extremities. Small cracks to the surface of spines to all volumes due to rubbing. Loss to the head and tail of spine to volume I. Front hinges to all volumes are strained but firm, volume III more tender. Front hinge and joint to volume I is tender. Rear hinge to volume I is tender. Prior owner's bookplate to the front pastedown of all volumes, Camden. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with spotting to the first and last few pages and occasional light scattered spots to most volumes. Very heavy spotting from pages 336-354pp to volume IV. Very Good .
