From the Preface: "To preserve the continuity of the letters, and to avoid detracting from the enjoyment of them, no footnotes or reference marks of any kind have been introduced." James Loch (7 May 1780 – 28 June 1855) was a Scottish economist, advocate, barrister, estate commissioner and later a Member of Parliament. In quarter vellum bindings with brown paper covered boards. Externally, a trifle rubbed. Corners are bumped. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. First and last few pages in all volumes are slightly browned and age-toned. There is a 'Copy No.' bookplate to the front pastedown in all volumes. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
