Volumes III and IV of Her Majesty's Tower appear to be first editions. Both volumes of Free Russia are first editions dated 1870. The Switzers is a first edition dated 1872. William Hepworth Dixon was an English historian and traveller. He is notable for organising London's Great Exhibition of 1851. In uniform half calf bindings with marbled boards. Externally, very smart. Patches of slight rubbing to the extremities and to the spines, particularly the head and tail. Small patches of rubbing to the joints. Small loss to head of front joint to The Switzers. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Small creases to top outer corner of a few pages to volume I of Free Russia.
