Bound in quarter cloth with gilt and stamped lettering, and paper-covered boards. Issued only to Members. Comprises volumes XV, XX and XXI. Volume XV includes forty-four plates. Volume XX includes thirty-six plates. Volume XXI includes thirty-two plates. Little is known about Randall Davies. Sometimes referred to as the Old Water Colour Society, the society was founded as the Society of Painters in Water Colours in 1804 by William Frederick Wells. Its members seceded from the Royal Academy where they felt that their work commanded insufficient respect and attention. In a quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. There is only very mild wear to the extremities, with just very mild bumping, and rubbing. With discolouration prominent to the boards of volume XXI, and a mark prominent to the rear board of XV. Internally the pages are generally clean and bright, with only very occasional scattered spots, prominent to the endpapers of volumes XX and XXI. There is some slight offsetting to the free endpapers of volume XV. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed .
