Author: The Albert Life Assurance Company Title: Albert Life Assurance Company Arbitration Act, 1871 Minutes of Proceedings Before the Arbitrator
Description: Westminster , Waterlow and Sons, 1871-75. Cloth. A collection of the minutes of the Albert Life Assurance Company meetings, in reponse to the arbitration act of 1871. Including lined paper bound to the front of each volume for additional notes. The collapse of the Albert Life Assurance Company was a particularly impressive one: the company went from declaring huge bonuses in 1861 to bankruptcy in 1869, following falsified declarations of profits. The first and second volumes contains minutes and details of proceedings, whilst the third volume contains details of the awards of arbitration (first award, second award, and third award). A very scarce primary source document. Rebound in blue cloth. Externally, smart, though with some marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and quite clean, with just some scattered handling marks, and some institutional ink stamps throughout. There are also some occasional marginal annotations. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed .
