Elizabeth is a romantic historical novel by the novelist Sophie Cottin. Paul and Virginia is a novel following the title characters' journey from friendship to love. The author, Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre was a French writer and botanist. Both works have a frontispiece. In a full calf binding with gilt stamping to the spine and to the board edges. Externally, very smart with a small amount of rubbing to the joint and to the extremities. Front hinge is slightly strained but firm. Prior owner's bookplate to the front pastedown, Bryan Hall.
