Library buckram binding with gilt lettering to spine. A first edition which is illustrated with numerous lovely photogravures and 6 tipped in colour plates. This book is an ex library copy. There are also some marks to the boards. The binding is tight and firm and both covers are firmly attached. Internally the book is clean and bright apart from some isolated spots and handling marks. There are library stamps to the first front blank end paper, to the rear of the title page, and in several places within the text, including to the front of some of the plates.
