This is an edition limited to 375 copies. This volume is number 369. Julien Green (1900-98) an American author who lived mostly in Paris. Green was a devout Catholic and a prolific writer. He wrote fiction and is known for his journals, detailing the life of an American in Paris. During World War Two he was part of the radio boradcasts, Voice of America that addressed France along with Yul Brynner and Andre Breton. He was the first none French national to be elected to the Academie francaise. Rene Ben Susan was a well-known illustrator, published from the 1920's and into the 1960's. His illustrated works include the Merchant of Venice, The School for Scandal and Volpone. In a quarter vellum binding with cloth covered boards. There is some slight wear to the extremities including some marks to the vellum. The binding is tight and firm with the boards and all internal pages securely attached.
