Description: London, Edward Moxon, 1839-40. Leather. A collection of selected works of some of the most prominent 18th & 19th century British poets. Bound together in one volume. The editions compiled are all from the publisher Edward Moxon. The include classics such as The Lady of the Lake, by Sir Walter Scott, The Pleasures of Memory, by Samuel Rogers, and Theodric, by Thomas Campbell. In this copy is inserted a 'Map of the Passenger Services And Connections of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company:' a fascinating pamphlet almost certainly from the late 19th century. It was clearly used as a bookmark by the original owner, and by that good fortune has been remarkably well preserved. In half calf with marbled boards and gilt detailing to the spine. Externally sound. Light rubbing to the head and tail of the spine, boards and extremities, with the odd mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean with light spotting to the the first and last few pages, as usual. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed .
