Educated at Cambridge, Edmund Bohun was a seventeenth-century English writer on history and politics. He was mainly known for his political writing attacking the Whigs, for he was a staunch Tory publicist. Although in support of the Glorious Revolution he was briefly imprisoned for the publication of a pamphlet by a gentleman with a similar name. After this imprisonment, and an embarrassment at Parliament, Bohun emigrated to Caroline to be the first Chief Justice there. Collated: Complete Rebound in quarter calf with paper bound boards. Externally, smart with handling marks and light rubbing to top of spine. Fading to boards. Ex libris bookplate to pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean but age toned.
