Henri de Boulainvilliers was a French nobleman, writer and historian. He is remembered as a historian of the French State, such as in this work, however he wrote diversely on many subjects including physics, philosophy and theology. In full calf bindings with gilt detailing to the spine. Externally, smart with some rubbing particularly at spine and spine labels. Joints starting to both volumes with some loss of leather to base of both volumes. Joints still reasonably firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean with some foxing to first and last few pages. Folding map with some minor edgewear and spotting. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
