An early edition of this work which was first published three years earlier. Lacking the title page, preface, pages 3-4, 91-102, 110-111 and 135 to end. There are photocopies provided for these missing leaves and therefore with the facsimiles this work is now complete to read. A fascinating look at seventeenth century society and their attitudes towards conduct. In contemporary paper covered boards. Externally, worn. Heavy loss to the spine and extremities. Boards are heavily rubbed. First leaf is lacking a large portion to the head. Several tide marks throughout to the top of pages, not affecting readability of text. Internally, binding is weak and may split fully with further handling. Binding is almost split and several gatherings have loosening. Pages are slightly age toned with instances of scattered spotting. Prior owner's ink marks to page 52 slightly obscuring the text. Fair . Ill.: None. Fair .
