This work comprises of the psalms, prayers, thanksgivings and hymns selected from the scripture. It is intended to be a companion for individuals during their hour of solitude and retirement to assist their daily devotion. The prayers are carefully selected and categorised as to when an individual would need them, for example prayers for persons advanced in life, prayers to be used in sickness and prayers to be used in trouble and affliction. In a full calf binding. Externally, sound with slight rubbing. Spine and boards are particularly rubbed. Prior owner's pencil inscription to recto of front endpaper, 'Gorge Morgan&apos. Below in more modern ink is written '1848&apos. G Morgan's stamp to recto of front endpaper also. Small section of the top right of front endpaper has been removed neatly. Internally, firmly bound.
