Hemans was a well-known literary figure, highly regarded by contemporaries such as Wordsworth, and with a popular following in the United States and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. In a half calf binding with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart but with slight wear to extremities and slight marginal fading to rear board. Front hinge strained. Internally, firmly bound although front free endpaper absent due to hinge. Bright and generally clean throughout but with slight background foxing to half title and a slight tidemarks to rear.
