Wilhelmine von Gravenitz was a German noble as well as the favourite and royal mistress of Duke Eberhard Ludwig of Wurttemberg between 1706 and 1731. She married the Duke in 1707, even though he was already married. Gravenitz was also politically active, from 1717 to 1731 she was a full member of the secret government cabinet. In a beautiful half crushed morocco binding signed by Hatchards of Piccadilly. Written by Marie Hay, an author of a number of historical novels including Dianne de Poytiers and An Unrequited Loyalty. In a half crushed morocco binding signed by Hatchards of Piccadilly to the verso of front endpaper. Gift inscription to verso of front free endpaper. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear.
