Edited by his daughter Sara, Coleridge aproaches a great deal of subjects in his essays, ranging from Irish national character to the French constitution. Here, we see Coleridge as the academic, essayist and critic, as opposed to the usual Romantic poems for which he found fame. Includes ink inscription to title page signed by one C. Morgan. In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally sound, there is significant wear tio the front boards, wear to extremities and wear, starting and loss to the backstrip, as well as a small closed tear.
