She is best known for the novel John Halifax, Gentleman (1856). She followed this with A Life for a Life (1859), The Ogilvies (1849) and others. In a cloth binding. Externally, smart but with slight wear to extremities and odd slight marks in particular to spine. Internally, front hinge strained with front free endpaper missing and slight closed tears to gutter to half title. Generally firmly bound. With foxing to endpapers, age toning to pages and the odd handling mark. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
