This reference catalogue is formed from a collection of books bequeathed by Willard Fiske, American librarian and scholar. Fiske was the university librarian of Cornell University and was made an authority on the Northern European languages, Icelandic language and culture in particular. The collection of Icelandic works were from Fiske's personal collection, which he started from as early as the 1850's. The catalogue contains thousands of titles all regarding subjects to do with Iceland. The catalogue was compiled by Halldor Hermannsson of th Cornell University Library and consists of bibliographical descriptions and summaries of each fascinating title. Receipt addressed to prior owner, Mr C J Proudman of Brislington, Bristol loosely inserted. Receipt is for the purchase of this book from Henry Sotheran Ltd on the 3rd October 2001. This is a twenty-first century facsimile of the original catalogue published in 1914. Undated, dated using Copac and ISBN number. In original green cloth binding with gilt stamping to spine.
