Description: London , Lackington, Hughes, Harding, Mavor, And Jones, 1820. Cloth. A history of this controversial priest's birthplace, as well as its namesake in Cornwall. This copy belonged to Stuart Piggot, of the University of Edinburgh. There is a handwritten note by him included, from which it is clear that he sent it to a correspondent who wished to find out more about the St Neot's bar-lip shard. The correspondent, Mr C F Tebbutt, was a well known local historian who published a history of St Neots. In a cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally somewhat worn, with wear to the edges and spine and marking to the boards. The spine label is heavily damaged with significant loss. With a contemporary ink signature to the front pastedown. The front hinge is weak. Internally a little cockled, and lightly spotted here and there throughout. The binding is loosening in places.
