In his introductory passage he speaks of meeting Florence Nightingale a friend of his aunt, Miss Rachel WIlliams. As well as a memoir of his experiences this work is also informative with regards to certain aspects of sports. This includes the status of turf, the use of whips and training apprentices. In original full cloth binding with title to front board. Externally, generally smart with minor bumping to the head and tail of spine. Very small patch of rubbing to rear joint. Boards have faded slightly. Prior owner's pencil notation to the top right corner of front board. Stamp to the front pastedown and rear pastedown 'From H L Usborne Harlow, Essex&apos. The stamp to front pastedown has been crossed out in pencil. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with scattered spots to endpapers and the odd spot throughout. Very Good Indeed .
