Written by Charles Colock Jones Jr. a Georgia politician and attorney. He wrote several notable works on the history of Georgia and the native people. Collated, complete with all thirty plates. This work discusses the culture of the 'Indians' such as their marriage, divorce, music, graves, weapons etc. He also describes the locations of several tribes. This work is an interesting insight into how some of the colonisers of the late nineteenth century regarded the native people of America. In original green cloth binding. Externally, worn. The rear hinge and joint have failed resulting in the board held by one cord only and causing the lifting of backstrip. Final few pages have disbound. Minor rubbing to extremities and to front joint which has split at the top. Loss to the head and tail of spine due to rubbing. Front hinge has failed resulting in board detaching. Backstrip is still attached to front board. Forbes Library plate to front pastedown. Library to the title page. Page 223 has detached but is present.
