Description: London, Houlston and Wright, 1868. Cloth. A scarce copy of the charming and entertaining series of short stories written by the novelist and educationist, Maria Edgeworth (1768–1849). Three of Edgeworth's short stories have been included within: The Mimic, Tarlton and Waste not, Want not. Includes a colour frontispiece and engraved illustrations throughout. A decorative colour label has been tipped in to the verso of the frontispiece. It states 'In aid of the "Jack Cornwall" Ward at the star and Garter Home&apos. In a gilt cloth binding. Externally, a trifle rubbed with wear to the top and tail of the spine and marks to the boards. An ink inscription has been left to the front pastedown and the front free-endpapers have been removed. Internally, generally firmly bound but loosening in places. Pages are bright and generally clean with a few scattered spots. Good Only . Ill.: Not Stated. Good Only .
