In an Asprey of London binding, as indicated by the binder's stamp to the front pastedown. Count R. L Sangorski was a prominent art collector famous for contributing to the John Marriot collection of Chinese Art. These works are listed on a receipt for binding issued to him in the 1980s, found with the sale of his collection. Bound in the 1980's after Asprey's acquisition of Zaehnsdorf bindery, who merged it with their previous acquisition of Sangorski and Sutcliff. This binding is likely to be Zaehnsdorf bindings, under the name of Asprey. No date to title page, dated from Copac. The letters to this volume follow the correspondence from 1805 to 1812. In a full calf binding with gilt stamping to the spine. Bound by Asprey and Co as indicated by gilt stamp to front pastedown. Externally, lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright. Frontispiece has offset slightly to title page otherwise pages are clean throughout. Fine . Ill.: None. Fine .
