Description: Paris, Librairie de L. Maison, 1853. Leather. Francois-Joseph-Marie-Therese of Nompère (1804 to 1882) a judge, journalist and editor of the journal 'Le Correspondent&apos. He was also a fervent Catholic and a historian who wrote many on Rome and the beginnings of Christianity. Contains Volume I and II of a two volume set, entitled 'Histoire des Cesars jusqu'a Neron' and 'Tableau du Monde Romain sous les premiers empereurs&apos. In a half morocco binding with marbled boards. Externally, rubbed with some shelfwear, especially to the ends of the boards. Internally, firmly bound, fairly bright and lightly foxed throughout with heavier foxing to the first and last pages. The remains of a sticker have been left verso of the front free-endpaper.
