All volumes being the eighteenth edition, published the same year as the first. was a brilliant character of the French Third Republic, industrialist, artist, and close friend of the poet Paul Valry, Leon-Paul Fargue and the violinist Jacques Thibaud. His other works include; Le Tarramagnou, Le Paradis des amants, Bassesse de Venise, prcd de La Traverse de l'Europe en avion et du lgat and Jeanne d'Arc for which he won Grand Prix of Histoire Acadmie franaise. Complete in three volumes. Uniformly bound in half calf bindings with marbled boards. Externally, all three volumes are lightly rubbed with all the spine labels lifting. One spine label is absent from volume three, and volume one's spine is slightly cocked. Internally, all volumes are generally firmly bound, although with some leaves working loose.
