Externally, worn with heavy rubbing to the spines, joints and extremities. Heavy loss to spines. Joints and hinges to volumes I and II are tender with cords showing. Front joint and hinge to volume I has failed with the board detached but present. Rear joint and hinge to volume III is weak and may detach with further handling. Prior owner's bookplate to front pastedown, Dr John Lettsom. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are age toned to edges with spotting to endpapers and the odd spots throughout.
