Widdrington to the front pastedown. Jules Gabriel Janin, 1804 - 1874, was a French writer and critic. Shallcross Fitzherbert Jacson was the nephew of Samuel Edward Widdrington (17871856) the writer on Spain. He inherited his Newton Hall estate, and Widdrington name. Bound in half paper-vellum and marbled paper-covered boards, with gilt lettering and decoration. There is only some mild wear to the extremities, with just mild rubbing and discolouration. Internally the pages have very slight browning to the page edges, with the occasional spot, with foxing and browning to the plates only. Very Good . Ill.: Tony Johannot. Very Good .
