Charles Blanc (November 4, 1813, Castres (Tarn) - January 17, 1882, Paris) was a French art critic, brother of Louis Blanc. After the February Revolution of 1848, he was director of the department for the visual arts at the ministry of the interior. He published the Histoire des peintres de toutes les coles (Par. 1849-69, 14 Vols.), which was translated to English and German. In a quarter calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. A little bumping and rubbing to the extremities. A little fading to the spine. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally firmly bound.
